The great outdoors has become my newest friend. Every weekend Grant (my beagle-dachshund mix) and I spend hours walking in the Fan, going to the dog park, the river and sitting under trees at Libby Hill Park.

Weekends are our time – however, during our adventures, I get hungry.

Thinking there would be plenty of dog friendly patios, I did a quick Google search and discovered only a handful of options – none which excited me (or Grant).

I know there had to be much more so I dug some more. I’ve reached out to dozens restaurants and compiled a list that’s sure to give you and your pups a chance to grab a bite to eat or a cool drink …

  1. Cindy says:

Thanks so much for compiling this list! We love taking our golden retriever places with us, and I’ve been wishing for a list just like this. She’s been allowed on the patio at McAllister’s at Gayton Crossing Shopping Center in the past, as well.

  2. Suz says:

I’m pretty sure ipanema doesn’t allow full-size dogs. There is a sign reading “no dogs” posted at Hardywood’s food truck court, and when I’ve brought my dog to Buddy’s, I’ve been told by the server that no dogs are allowed, and I need to tie him up on the sidewalk, outside the patio fence.

  3. Megan says:

Thanks for the list! Used it this weekend to take my 40 lb chow mix to Buddy’s and everyone was more than happy to have him!

  4. Tyler says:

Palani Drive at 401 Libbie Ave in the
near west end is dog friendly too! I work there and as long as others on the patio are cool with it we love having dogs!!

  5. Cynthia says:

Buddy’s is NOT dog friendly. They just turned us away, claiming it’s a health code violation. Will not be going there again.

  6. Jamie says:

I asked on their Facebook page about Urban Farmhouse’s patio in Scott’s Addition and they confirmed that the patios at all their locations are dog friendly

  7. Megan says:

Station 2 is actually not a dog friendly restaurant/patio. Although we allow dog owners to sit at one of the two tables we have closest to the sidewalk, with their dog’s leash tied to the gate and their dog on the sidewalk behind the gate. We of course welcome service dogs and we are big supporters of the Fetch A Cure program. It would be appreciated if you could please update our listing.
